20 extra HP might be pushing it i think with just ram air and a flowmaster muffler...especially if you still have the stock exhaust...keep in mind also that u have all that speaker equipment in the back, which means more weight than normal
also factor in mileage on the car also drops power, if you have over 70,000 miles figure you probley have more like 150 HP, i think the 280+ HP you say on your webpage is a little overrated

I'd be inclined to agree that your mods aren't good for anywhere near 20 HP, maybe 10 but even that's pushing it. My guess would be you've got 170 at the crank, or about 140 at the rear wheels.
You're right about that engine, that's the lowest-performing V8 that came in one of these cars. At least yours is a 87 so it has the flat-top pistons; in 84 that same motor was only good for 145 HP.

damn, yeah I think 280 is a little to omuch, I read somewhere that my engine had 260 stock, I guess not. IF I have 165+ mods, then whats the hp rating for a 4 cylinder prism? like 20 hp?

I had the LG4 in my 86 Trans Am.
changed to Edelbrock 1406 carb, Edelbrock 7101 Intake, MSD HEI Coil, and ran a 14.94@91.67mph. Everything else was stock and I had 133K miles on the motor,

Here is the Edelbrock setup,

and my new TPI Setup
