Insurance

I was wondering how much some of you guys pay for insurance, every 6 months, every month, and for the year. My dad agreed to pay the insurance for a v6 firebird, but id much rather have the 96 transam because the body style is better and mainly for more power. THANKS

I pay $117/month for full coverage, including roadside assistance and uninsured motorist, $500 deductible, for BOTH of my cars, 1998 Ford Escort SE and 1984 Camaro, with my wife listed as secondary on both. Both of us have no violations on MVR. I am 25, and married.

For a new licensed 16 year old male with under a 3.0 GPA:
1988 Camaro SC 5.0 TBI V8 = $570 under parents every 6 months!!
1972 Firebird Formula 400 = $270 EVERY SIX MONTHS!! I wanted that car but it had serious issues. I thought that $270 was every month and was about to puke, then he said six months and nearly **** myself.

I pay 324.00 6 Monthes for Full Coverage 250Ded Comp Collision. 25/50/50 Uninsured motorist and Rental Car through State Farm. No Tickets No Accidents Age 33 on a 92 Camaro. Yes when you get older you get smarter and cheaper insurance. I remember when I was paying 3,900 a Year for Basic Insurance on a 70 Chevy Impala through Progressive. Progressive is the worse Insurance Company out there. Followed by Allstate and Nationwide. My suggestion is to go with a Company on your parents policy if you can otherwise do some research and shopping around. And if you don't have any tickets take a Defensive Driver course most companies give 10-20% discount with that. Just my .02

Arrgh ! I pay $184 a month for my 'vert. I have a 4.0 gpa, never been in an accident, but I'm 18 and single. I knew I was in trouble when I went to the insurance company and computer flag a warning as soon as they typed in the VIN .

The most I ever paid was about $1500 a year for full coverage, I was 23 and single and the car was brand new at the time.

If you can score full coverage for under $1500 a year then you are doing good. Getting married and hitting 25 will be a major plus. (Funny, I've seen more married folks get pissed and wreck their ****, but thats another story).

Anyways, sometimes you have to go with the higher insurance rates (especially from the mom-and-pop insurance companies) for at least 6 months before you will get a decent rate from a "better" insurance company.

Staying ticket and accident free certainly helps.

I am paying $112/month for a 97 Grand Prix, and a 91 Z28, full coverage on both. Single, 23, accidents have fallen off, and no tickets. Its nice to see I get a 30% reduction for air bags only on the GP, but a 30% surcharge for a "High Performance Vehicle", and no deduction for an airbag on the Camaro. Insurance is great!!

I pay $590 every 6 months and thats just liability. I'm 19 and have a 3.0 gpa in college. Now thats some Bulls**t. I've only gotten one ticket for too fast for conditions. No points deducted and No accidents. Insurance companies are damn blood suckers!!!

Ill make all you guys feel good about how much you pay. For my camaro I pay $311.59 a month. The reason is that I am 20, single and ohh ya I have 11 points on my record. The problem was that I was 17 and a had a red RS camaro and I used to just fly around town and I got a bunch of tickets, and than I was stupid and gave all the cops attitude when they pullde me over so they than gave me tickets for anything they could. It was crazy the tickets I used to get, and If i was an older person in a family car i wouldent have over half of the tickets I have. Also if you live in San Ramon California you know that nothing ever happens here so the cops mess with you for no reasons cause they are bored. That a huge reason why im about to sell my camaro, Hell my car payment is only $189 a month for the camaro.

But on a good note my 1989 toyata truck is a $115 for a year. Its in my parents name and its the least coverage. ( its my daily driver and beater)
