Dart "iron eagle"heads

'ol '624 heads are getting tired on my mild 350 crossfire, spare '624 set was found to have a crack radiating out from an exhaust seat(624s and '882s are known for this phenomenon along with warping so thinking about replacing with a set of #10021070 iron eagles(72 cc,165 cc runner,1.5/1.94)These have about the right specs for my combo and an updated chamber shape vs the '624s,Anyone have any pro/con info about iron eagles or Dart heads in general ?

Re: Dart "iron eagle"heads

I had a set of the original 220?cc Dart Iron Eagles that I got for a very cheap price a few years back. I put it on my 10:1 355 with a 218ish/22x duration cam. It was defiantly too much intake runner for my build and the bottom end was almost non existent but it did go 12.90s in a 3300lb car with an s10 converter and 700r4.

I wouldn't expect the dart iron eagles to flow much better than a set of GM vortec heads.

Re: Dart "iron eagle"heads

Vortec heads have 64cc chambers that may be too tight and need a vortec intake. My World Products Torque II's have 67cc chambers and come w/big 2.02"/1.6" vlvs. Mine are pocket ported and the vlvs are unshrouded. For a little more money than the vortecs w/screw in studs and better vlv springs u get heads that can use your intake.
But really sbc prices are so competitive its best to spend another $100 and get just what u need than buy something cheaper but short of what would work best.
