If there is nothing it is likely your battery, which could have been caused by a bad alternator or bad wiring. If your lights work it may be your starter/solenoid/connections or even still a weak battery.

Hi again Chris, how long did you let it run for each time you cranked, turning it over alone tears up your battery and you need you bring up the RPMs a bit for maybe 5 minutes to fully recharge your battery, implying your alternator is good. On my GTA if it doesn't crank the first 3 times I turn the key the battery will take a $h!t. You should hear like a clicking sound at your starter solenoid/ relay. See if your dome light or radio comes on.

If your battery is completely dead: no lights and no clicking.
---> double check batt cables, alt belt and alt. harness and all connections. If all good, give it a jump and take it around town in daylight for 20 minutes (all non-essential junk off), just keep an eye on your voltmeter. It should never dip below 13, if it does, its your alternator. If the car won't jump or restart after that, its a flat battery. Good luck!!

ok its not the battury i know that for sure. and its not the starter.

today it would turn over fine and would fire but sounded like it was flooded.

would it do this if the timing was off?

is this a sign of a bad fuel pump?

If the timing is too far off the car will not start. Make sure you can hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the key, if so check for pressure on the rails. It could be a fuse or a relay, have you checked all of those?

the car now starts when it wants too. it idles ruff but does not stall . when drive it has no real power like it did. it has codes 34 and 44.
when the guy put the motor back together he wasnt sure if he got the air injection system hoses right since i have slp headers. one of the hoses comes off the header and there are two that feed into something on the passenger side of motor. does anyone have diagram on this and other vaccume hoses? also a diagram of all of the motor grounds and main grounds in motor because he might of forgotten one of these also. i here the fuel pump come on also so i know its not the battury or fuel pump. thanks

I would double check the timing. Make sure the distributor isn't loose.
