Is it possible to Mod Truck Serp brackets to fit fbody?

Hi Guys,
I have the truck serpentine brackets to bolt onto my 400SBC right hand drive transAM, which is obviously blocking the intake pipe to the throttle body(see below)

Is there any easy way to swing the bracket further to the left for the AC one, and then brace it using the bracing bars or make another bracket to hold it in place?

Then I'd just need to order a long belt, could that work?
Or if not, can someone run to one of the wreckers there, grab me the tensioner and bracket and ship to Australia?

First crazy thought that came to mind would be ;

couldn't you relocate the A/C compressor & tensioner to the other side of the engine and then put the alternator where the A/C is now ? The alternator being small enough for the intake pipe to not be blocked by it ?

The truck stuff doesn't work well at all for the F-cars. Best bet is to sell all that and use the correct F-car setup.

With the bracket/tensioner mount being inline with the TPI/StealthRam TB, I don't see how the truck bracket can possibly work together.

I searched for "camaro serpentine bracket" on eBay and found several hits. Perhaps cost and shipping to Oz won't be terrible.
$50 for just the AC bracket

Hey, I just checked and yes, that would be perfect but the seller only ships within the US like all the others

With swapping the sides, the tensioner wouldn't work the other way around.

That setup is identical to the one on my '86 Silverado except mine is on the opposite side, still it wouldn't work, left, or right side. The OEM air intake isn't the best, and that setup would make it worse.

if you can find one, maybe look at using the setup off an Astro van. they had the alternator and AC swapped side for side, but i don't know off hand where the tensioner was. another option is the 96-99 vortec pickups, but i found out on mine that the AC compressor would be thru the hood if i was to have AC..

I hadn't had any response so I just went and did it LOL
I drilled out one of the holes, angled the bracket and bought a 2" longer serpentine belt from a VE commodore and there you have it:

Keep the thread updated on how it works for ya. And if it works good then post up more details on how its done. Might help somebody else down the road.

My worries would be it eventually cracking around the new bolt location. Something you may want to keep an eye on.

Yeah absolutely.
It still has to turn over and rev without snapping LOL
I'm going to put some additional braces in to make sure its secure, and I just found we've got a sandblasting setup in one of the work sheds next door, so when I take the brackets off to clean them up I'll take pictures of the bolt hole configuration changes and post them.
