What do you think about this cam? Its pn 22305 at the melling website. I just put this cam and matching springs in my 355 which was zero decked and is running Keith Black hyper. pistons. According to my calculations the compression should be right around 11 to 1. It has chevy cast iron heads which were reworked with comp cam's 1.6 magnum roller tip rockers. Its a fresh rebuild and it hasn't been fired up yet. I was just wondering what you guys think, and what kind of numbers to expect.

P.S. - Having starter trouble. Been through three so far including the old 305 starter, and a GM Performance mini-starter (which cracked in half ) Ordering a powermaster XS starter and will hopefully have her running by the weekend.

i am starting a simular build up

i am starting a simular build up, the engine i am building was rated at 480 hp stock out of a jetboat, its a 350, with trw forged 11-5.1 pistons(at the time),i think like a .125"dome, 1.94 heads, 490 lift cam, 4 bolt main, high rise center manifold, and a 750 carb topped it off. the heads nor center manifold are on it anymore but i have a set of 202 76 cc heads i am going to put on it, which i think will be at around 10-8.1 (compression with the higher cc heads), a 470 lift cam, at around 230* duration, a high rise center manifold and to top it off a carter 500 cfm carb (for what gas milage i can get. ha), the rods are stage 2 and the main is a 4bolt main, i am expecting to be around 400 horse, because of the carbs cfm drop, the compresson drop, and the 202 gain.

Sounds like a winner! ! I'd imagine you should come out with AT LEAST 430 horses, assuming those heads you mentioned breathe half way decently. 11 to 1 comp. ratio? Is this a street driven car?

Yeah this is a street driven car. I am actually a senior in high school and I built this engine at a machine shop that I am interning at. I'm the only chevy guy at school so I wanted to make a statement. Now I'm just hoping that my t-5 tranny will last till I can get a TKO .
