Do I need to do a hot valve lash adjustment?

92rs 305. Just finished putting Vortec heads on it and all new top end parts to go along with it. Haynes manual says to take lash out then go 3/4 of a turn. I took the lash out and went 5/8 of a turn because I wasn't sure of how the valves in the Vortec heads would seat and may collapse the lifters and not get compression, I wanted to give plenty of room for thermal expansion. I started the car and it ran great, no noise in the valve train at all, then I shut it down after I checked for leaks since I only put water in it. Tomorrow I'll drain it, refill with antifreeze, however should I run it and tighten those rockers the other 1/8 of a turn while running or should I go back through the original procedure as prescribed in the book and reset them, or just leave it alone?

Leave it alone.
There's no reason to do a hot lash adjustment with hydraulic lifters as long as you do the cold static procedure correctly. and it sounds like you did.

It should be fine as it is.
You have the self guiding rockers for the Vortec heads heads?

Ok guys, thanks. I know I gave it a little wiggle room to be sure. I rechecked my rockers today prior to securing the valve covers and they had the slightest of movement, nothing out of the ordinary.
