What's this go to?

So I'm getting the car up and running, it's been sitting awhile and am confused where this plugs into and what it does.
Was putting headers on the car a few years back and disconnected things to get them to fit. Got most of it plugged back in however I can't figure out where the pictured harness belongs.

Thanks for your help guys definitely need assistance here. I do have a shop manual the dealers used but am having trouble locating it.

I can't see the first picture well enough to tell you, the second one is a vacuum line to the heater control valve.

Re: What's this go too?

Looks like it may have made a long trip but possibly the EGR solenoid plug. The intake temperature sensor is the closest thing I can think of over there but I recall that being a different type of plug.

Re: What's this go too?

Damnit lol, I'm trying to remember where it is or if it was removed during the installation of the headers. Will the car run without it if I can't figure it out? I need to move it to a storage facility

Re: What's this go too?

The egr doesn't NEED to function to drive it. It'll pop a code eventually if left that way though. Plug that vacuum line too.

I'm gonna eat dinner, as soon as I'm done I'll go back down and check the egr.

Re: What's this go too?

I thought that was mounted up by the ignition coil? Maybe I'm thinking of an 1986

had two wires. One os black. The other is pink with a black stripe. Found the service manual, according to control map it's showing it possibly being canister purge

Re: What's this go too?

I'm wondering if it's just not used, or if it hooked up to something originally when before the msd was installed

Are you sure one isn't gray? The egr solenoid has a gray one and pink/blk one.

Re: What's this go too?

I don't think it's the egr solenoid, that looks to be more toward the front of the car. It's kinda cool working on it again, becoming familiar with it again. Although it is a pain to work on. I just need it to go 16 miles to storage while I'm waiting to take possession of the new house.
Looking forward to that. Has a 4 car garage 20 x 50 deep.

Re: What's this go too?

As far as your question on wire color it might be gray, ran out of steam, worked all day and need to be in early tomorrow. Will hopefully fire it up tomorrow, just need to route a plug wire away from the header, tie a couple rubber pieces together for the AIR tubes and drop in the battery

I have a vague memory of people who had a mystery plug that went to nothing even from the factory. Did a search.. https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tech...g-my-87-a.html

Re: What's this go too?

That's what it looks like however it's in a different location from that.

I wonder if it had something to do with the transmission? Being that the tranmission was stand alone from the computer in 87 maybe it was just not used that year.

Car started up once the air got out of the line from changing the fuel filter. Second attempt and it started just like it did years ago.
Thanks for your assistance

You're welcome. Good luck with that mega garage you got coming! I'm still looking for my own.
