distributor still moving after being tightin... any suggestions

My distributor still moves after being tightin down... any ideas or ways to get it mounted down???

The hold-down bolt may be bottoming out in the threaded hole in the manifold. Try putting a washer or two under the bolt and tightening again to see if it makes a difference.

I have heard the fancy cheap aluminum hold down brackets will bend and not hold it tight.

Agree, this is probably the issue if the stock hold down fork is in use. Also check to make sure the fork is positioned on the distributor flange properly. It may be off to the side a little and not grabing on both sides.

I replaced my bolt with a stud. This way the stud is fully engaged and I use a washer and flanged nut. Makes getting everything started much easier.
