Just got a 1989 camaro rs

Hey how it going, ok so I just bought a 1989 camaro rs. I'm new to the camaro scene, I'm planing on putting a 383 hopefully pumping out somewhere between 400+ horses. I want to know the best automatic tranny, rear ends, suspensions for the best bang for my buck. I'm trying to spend around 8k in total on the car (engine is going to cost me about 3k-3.5k) thanks again.

Re: Just got a 1989 camaro rs

I just spent the last few months swapping in a carburated 430 HP 383 small block chevy and a Level 3 PATC Raptor 700 transmission, with a 2600 stall. It runs great and traction is the only problem at the moment, but you'd better be ready to shell out a few more bucks than you've mentioned. Including the long tube headers, new radiator and fuel system, I spent 11 grand on the swap.

I spent just under $3K for an S60 to my door from Carl @CRP. Stand up guy!!
Yeah it's overkill, but hard to beat for the price without piecing it together

Can I get the specs of exactly what you orderd and from who on that rear end? That would pretty much finish my build.

Basically in my specs on the left. Call Carl, 316-299-8427 tell him what you have and plans, he has a few options S60, fab'd 9", 12bolt, you get a discount if your a member of ls1tech easy to do if your not, and if you send a check or money order! $100's less than others. I opted of my ls1rear brakes and one of my backing plates was iffy, he dug through this stuff found me one and first class mailed it to me free of charge!!
This is the last of true service oriented sales companies!
Tell him Chip from Houston referred you or "BrutalSierra" (ls1tech handle). He won't point you wrong!!! I spoke to him 5-6 times before ordering just to make sure and there was no hesitation from him at all!! Good luck, keep me updated.

Thank you very much for the info, I won't be swapping the rear end until sometime late spring, but that is the next project on the list.
