Code 32
Code 32
I hate how the code book always give 2-3 possible choices for what's wrong under the same code. I know it is either barometric pressure sensor or the EGR valve. It actually happened a long time ago I just forgot about it till it happened to my mom's Astro. I'm sure that the EGR valve has never been replaced on my car so is that what I should be looking for or is my car just trying to tell me the weather?
Duke,
It may depend on the year of the Astro. If it's a 262 V-6 (there weren't many 4 cylinders actually made) and its between 1988 and 1992, the "32" is for the EGR.
Make sure the EGR solenoid has the vacuum lines connected correctly. Make sure the PCV valve is the correct one for the vehicle (I had the same problem on an Astro that turned out to be a bad PCV, not EGR valve), and make sure the EGR passages are clean and clear.
If all of those are correct, and the vacuum line is connected to the MAP sensor correctly, the problem could actually be the EGR valve. A replacement is about fifty bucks for the universal fit valves.
