Spark plug wires

Im not looking to start a war but am hoping for a claification.
First ill start with this.
When looking at specs on plug wires, there are resistence ratings etc. What do some of these specs mean exactly such as solid, spiral core etc. Also since I have edelbrock headers (stock replacement for 305 tpi) how do I determine if they are high heat rated?

Im having a heck of a time finding the right set of wires. Mine has the remote coil meaning its not mounted on the distributor. However all the wire sets im running across dont come with the coil wire? I didnt have this issue years ago and had bought a set ( still have) moroso blue max wires. Even came with looms but now its not showing available for my application?

The wires are old and with the headers now installed they dont really fit well anymore and need something different and better suited.

Just to put it out there im not a huge fan of Accell but am open to recommendation and suggestions.

Vehicle is 1987 IROC Z 305 tpi
Thanks to all

Re: Spark plug wires

Love Summit Racing for parts.

This is also a nice set I have been using for a very long time and there also made by Taylor for Summit.

If you want some "color" Red or Blue. = https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-868858r

Be sure to talk to a "technician" before you order anything.
Tell him what your driving and he will get you the right parts.
Ask them for there free catalog. Its like a "Christmas" Wish List.

I would get a set of wire "markers" while your at it. There cheep and very nice to have. = https://www.summitracing.com/parts/spe-4244/overview/

Re: Spark plug wires

MSD Superconductor. These are one of the lowest resistance wires. I think resistance is the most important spec for wires. They are probably the most pricey but I have friends that drag race and swear by these. My set was pre made to fit and came with a coil wire and wire markers.

Re: Spark plug wires

I thought this was an interesting article.
I'm not a technician, but this seems to have some merit according to other information I have read.

The truth about Ignition Wire Conductors = http://www.magnecor.com/magnecor1/truth.htm

Just out of curiosity, next time I change them I will be dissecting one of my "Summit Racing" Brand wires to get a look.
