Cam help 224/230 XFI (276XFI)

Looking for a cam for my stroker build. So I'm building a 383 with forged pistons and rods the kit from scat, with GMPP FAST BURN HEADS, with fully ported edelbrock intake and Siamesed SLP RUNNERS, TES HEADERS FROM EDELBROCK and was looking at both the xfi 268 and xfi 280 but was looking for something in the middle because I don't need something with high rpm and came across on this board that some of the guys are running a 224/230 XFI (276XFI) custom grind which seem to be the right fit for my stroker, so I was wondering if anyone can help me out with the complete specs to this custom 276 xfi cam, cuz I don't see on com cams web page..... thanks

I would guess it doesn't exist. I see 268/276, which they call XFI268. The next step up is 280/288.

There is a XR276HR.

You call and ask for the lobes or fill out the custom cam order sheet

Lobes are 3015 intake and 3036 exhaust. 112-113 lsa. Intake center on a 108-109 should do it

The COMP Cams 08-503-8 Camshaft is a good choice for a 383

Re: Cam help 224/230 XFI (276XFI)

Yep was running this comp cams with my previous Slp runners setup in my 355 with SLP shorties headers and Edelbrock Heads P/N 60859 made a lot of torque but poor HP. If I remember 403 Lbs torque at 3000rpm but only 310 Hp at 5200Rpm! In a 383 setup you will certainly gain some torque and couple HP at both low/midrange, and the exhaust/valve lift with factory rocker arm ratio: 0.503 int./0.510 exh. is just what you need with a long runners intake such as your setup... Back then I overlooked some nice Tpis camshaft and some of their grinds were very similar to the Compcams but a bit more agressive so you might look into their website for your needs, specialy with a 383!

Compcams: CS XR276HR-12

And I forgot to mention that this particular camshaft provides a ruff idle if you are ever concern with this matter...but is computer friendly with his 112* Lobe Separation.
