Hey, here's the deal.
When my car was TBI, I got a new motor and because me and TBI/prom stuff didn't get along, it always ran rich. After I switched to carb, I blew a head gasket and the soot build up in the head was awful from running rich.
When I accelerate sometimes, there is hesitation at first and then as it takes off there is a puff of black smoke out the tail pipes. Can this be the carbon build up in the heads burning off? What else could it be? The engine doesn't burn any oil. I have initial timing at 12*BTDC and all components are in my sig. Thanks.
