do I have the wrong cam?
I bought a Lunati roller cam and may have ordered the wrong one 20080721L it works on an LT1 and LT4 but I have a Vortec roller block I believe I should have bought a 20120711L. I dont know how this mix up happened but will this cam work for me?

Re: do I have the wrong cam?
That Lunati cam (20080721L) is a hydraulic roller design for SBC. It looks like it specs at .515/.530 219°/227° 112° LSA It should work in the "Vortec" SBC block just fine, including the required step for the retainer plate.
The specs on that Lunati cam are about the same as the .510/.520 220°/230° 114° LSA I'm running in an LT1 at 10.4:1. Since I'm running with 1.6 rockers the actual (at the valve) spec are more like a .546/.556 225°/235° 112° LSA. That cam combo with raised port heads and 2.02/1.60 valves has run well for me for over 10 years. There is negligible difference in torque at the low end, and noticeably more torque in the mid- and upper RPM ranges.
