Fuel pump questions
Hey guys, having a 383 built with vortec heads, need to make a call to remember the cam specs....ported tpi plenum and base, AS&M large tube runners, 52mm throttle body, headers. I'm in the process of picking out fuel injectors. I was thinking about ordering a set of 30# injectors. Would the stock fuel pump be able to keep up?
Not looking for huge HP numbers at this point as the car is a work in progress. I plan on eventually replacing the TPI unit with a HSR and then I know for sure I will need to replace it. Just ran out of budget to replace intake and pump at this time

Re: Fuel pump questions
Get a walbro 255. Factory pumps and any kind of aftermarket pump is garbage, might as well just get a good one and be done.

Re: Fuel pump questions
I doubt the stocker can keep up. Brand new the pump and wiring is barely enough, let alone after 30 years. ...I'm using the Racetronix kit, which came with a Walbro 255, but I also got the hotwire kit to help with voltage drops. Look into it. The hotwire kit was plug and play. Very easy, and not overly expensive.

Re: Fuel pump questions
We got away from the Walbro's because they are noisy. We use a 255 LPH pump from Deatschwerks - they are silent.

I can drop ship you a fuel pump kit for about $90. It's a kit for a C4 vette but fits no problem. Have one in my 86. Good for 600+ HP.
