So I pulled a pressed in rocker stud on my 82 (it has a 350 out of a 70's C10 just for reference). I went to go pull it out today with everything still in the car. As soon as I popped it out coolant started coming out of the hole. It's the 4th stud from the front, on the passenger side (an exhaust valve I think?) Anyways I'm curious if this is supposed to happen or if my heads are screwed up? Ive never done rocker studs, so sorry for the newbie question...

Rocker studs are pressed in and go into the coolant jacket.
Pressing in a new stud may or may not seal tight enough. Typically when a stud is replaced, the boss is drilled and a pin is inserted to help hold the stud in place.
Another alternative is a basic screw in stud. The press in stud hole is tapped and a threaded stud is screwed into place. These are not your performance studs which would require the stud boss to be machined off for a stud with a base such as those that hold down guide plates.
The threaded in studs are stronger as they won't pull out when using higher valve spring pressure like a pressed in stud will do.

Mr. Gasket 1076, IIRC. Remove the adjacent rocker arms and their push rods. Pack rags in the oil drainbacks and push rod holes. Wrap a strong magnet or magnets in a rag and place it near the boss for the pulled stud. Tap the hole for 7/16-14 and clean up all the chips. Apply thread sealant like Loctite 565 to the lower half of the stud and screw it in to the limit. Done.
