Timing cover gasket?
My engine is out of my car to replace the oil pan and the rear main seal. If my valve guide seals and rear main seal require replacement, is that an indication that it's time for the timing cover gasket to also be replaced? If so, do I have to do the timing cover gasket now (with the engine out of the car)? Or can it be done with the engine reinstalled?
Thanks!
Bill

Cloyes double roller timing chain set. Don't bother with a gasket on the chain cover just RTV it. RTV has come a long way and will outlast any paper gasket at this point.

Re: Timing cover gasket?
Thanks for the advice, gents! I'm now in search of a new water pump and the cloyes double roller timing chain set. If anyone has any part numbers or links, I would greatly appreciate it!
