Doing rebuild

Im going through an engine rebuild. Today i began getting it ready for removal. As I bagan to drain the oil out of the oil pan, a bunch of water came out!! It was alot. My 10qt pan overflowed. Its wierd cause i had changed the oil about three days before I decided it needed a rebuild. It only ran for about 15 mins. and I didn't even drive it after that. Before that, it sounded like it had a really big exhaust leak(loud rattle). Is there any way I can have a cracked block? It never overheated and it always ran cool.
