1995 Chevrolet 1500

I have a 95 Chevy 1/2 ton with about 190,000 miles. The truck uses oil (about 1 quart every 500 miles.

I use NAPA 10w30 oil.

I can't see any smoke when I start the pickup and it doesn't seem to smoke when I drive. I do notice a few leaks when it's parked, but it seems like the puddles should be larger if I'm using 1 quart per 500 miles.

I put STP stock leak it a couple of times, and that really helped.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Keep it full of oil and be starting to plan a rebuild or replacement. May last a long time if you keep it full of oil. I would go with a heavier 10w40 or even 20w50 at this point. Probably leaking at the rear main seal if I were to guess.

Check your PCV valve - when they go bad they can suck oil.
