what is this?

unknown part

so, after being up on jack stands for the past few months I finally pulled the old bird out of the garage last night, she is running really rough, I know it needs new plugs, wires ect but while I was looking for the cause of the rough idle (which leads to the car dying after about 2-5 minutes) I noticed this part which has a couple of vacuum lines on it that are not going anywhere. which leads to 2 questions, 1- what is this part? and 2- could this be causing the rough idle?

Re: what is this?

Should be the EGR solenoid, one line goes to the EGR under the plenum. The other I believe runs up to the throttle body where it splits off the the charcoal canister as well

Re: what is this?

so I'm assuming this is probably the cause of the rough idle/ slow painful sounding dying? lol

Re: what is this?

Could be bad gas, especially if you have 93/94 octane in your tank and it has been sitting more than 3 months. Toss in a few gallons of fresh fuel and see if that helps.
