Hey everyone. My Iroc had no AC belt on it when I got it as the compressor is no good. My air pump was making noise so we removed that belt. Do I need to get the delete pulley in place of the air pump or can I just remove what is left of the air pump? Thanks for any help.

which belt set up do you have? serpentine or do you have multiple belts? there are plenty of posts on here on how to reroute a belt after deleting the the smog pump, you will need a shorter belt though.

It is an 85 with multiple belts. The AC belt was removed when I got it. The smog belt we removed the other day. Car is running fine without them on it. I am assuming the delete pulleys are just for serpentine cars. I plan on taking out the whole pump among some other things soon.

pretty much, I have multiple belts on my car and I just took the pump belt off and ran it that way to make sure there were no issues, after a running it a few times and no issues I went ahead and pulled the pump out.

Thanks for the reply. I just didn't want to buy a pulley delete and run a belt for no reason.

The computer does not monitor the pump itself so deleting it won't cause a problem.
