Complete Ignition System Replacement

Hello,

I and a new 3rd-Gen owner, just picked up my 1989 Iroc-z with the 5.7. I am going over the car with a fine tooth comb and have been searching on here for threads with information on ignition system replacement. I am wanting to go the MSD route but have absolutely no idea what parts to purchase. Can anyone provide me with any information on all of the parts I will need and part numbers for a complete under the hood ignition replacement.. i.e. Coil, Controller, Distributor, etc, etc..

Any help would be much appreciated...

Thanks!!!

Why? Most of the stock ignition hardware is as good as anything MSD makes. TPI isn't going to rev high enough to ever need anything more than stock.

Re: Complete Ignition System Replacement

A tuneup w good-quality stock replacement parts is all it needs. (NOT, the cheeeeeeeeeeepest thing you can find on ebay that "fits") There is VERY little room for improvement in that area.
