Should i even bother with cleaning my map or just get a new one

If that's the case, the internal diaphragm may be bad. If it's truly suspect, I'd simply buy a new one.

What's telling you the map sensor is bad?

My repair manual told me all the things a bad map sensor can do and my car has been showing those symptoms

This is where having a scanner is so valuable... you could look at the data output and see what the voltage output of the map sensor is...
