The suspension front & rear are connected to "subframes", a partial frame in the front for the front suspension, and a partial frame in the rear for the rear suspension. The two subframes are connected to the body, so the body provides the "connection" between the two subframes.
Subframe connectors are additional frame pieces that are either bolted or welded to the front and rear partial frames (and some to the body as well), to "connect" the two partial frames. The result is more suspension rigidity, less body flexing, better handling, better power handling capability, fewer rattles, and fewer cracks in the roof corners.
Welded in are generally considered superior to bolt-in for doing the job, but bolt-in are easier if you don't have a welder. Some people start with bolt-in, then have them welded up later.

Sub frame conectors allow you to tie or bolt the entire uni-body frame together, making it something like a real full frame.
Years ago,GM used full frames on cars..then they switched to uni-bodies which is a hybrid type of frame where the body has maybe a front frame rails, rear frame rails, but flat floor pan, making the car itself the frame.
If you look under your car,you will see the frame rails go from under by the engine bay to the floor pan then stop. Then in the back it will begin again. Sub frame connectors attach these frame rail together, making the car somewhat tighter and more rigid.
If you buy a model of your car to put together, the model will also show the uni body frame rails as part of the floor pan.
Btw,I hate uni body frames. They flex, squeak and rattle way too much. But most car manufacturers use this design now.
I cant tell you how much or where to get them. Most Good camaro/firebird supplier should have them, unless they stopped selling them.
Hope this explained it enough.

Click on our sponsor's button above, Spohn. Nice weld-in parts.

Please, for the love of all things simple, buy the bolt-ins and weld them in!
