New Camaro owner - proposed engine upgrades
Hi - I've just picked up a 1991 1LE Camaro, it is in great condition and I am loving it so far.
I will not be racing the car, it will be used all year on the street, not a daily driver so I can handle some compromise. Am hoping for a build that frees up mid-range, I don't want to run it up to the redline, just want to free up the grunt/throttle response that I think it locked away in there. The car has an upgraded headers/exhaust & suspension, has a custom PROM but otherwise seems stock.
After lots of reading on here I'm thinking about the following modifications and would appreciate any comments.
1. First intake manifold - seems biased towards mid range rather than top end, should fit under the strut brace the car already has.
2. AFR 195/65 street heads with upgraded 8605 springs.
3. Comp Cams 268XFI cam - biased to mid-range again.
4. Adjustable Fuel Pressure regulator
5. 28-30 injectors - seems like either would work ok.
6. Higher pressure, in tank, pump - not sure if needed but perhaps worth it.
7. EBL P4 - although I am tempted by the Holley and FAST efi, I dont think I need them and can always cut across if I struggle to get the car tuned (experience of the EBL system is going to be limited with dyno operators in the UK I assume).
As I am in the UK and will be paying through the nose for postage/import duty on my parts order, if you can think of anything else I should add to the order(s) please do shout out !

Are your injectors 19's or 22's?
If 22's, they'd be good for up to 400 hp (at the crank). However, if unsure, or if they've been sitting around a lot over the years, new would be good.
If you're shopping for deals, just know that a GM 24 pph injector will support about 450 crank hp.

Re: New Camaro owner - proposed engine upgrades
Hi - I'm not sure which injectors it has currently, most likely stock as it doesn't have any significant upgrades atm - thanks for the hint on 24s, as I am not planning on really major power that could be the right level to go to, and as I don't know when they were last changed a new set is probably a good thing to include.
Most posts I've seen suggest 28 or 30 but I guess that is headroom for big upgrades and those sizes makes it harder to tune for ?

Yes, in general, bigger injectors are less tolerant of a tune that doesn't get all of the dwell/on/off parameters adjusted perfectly. I think 28-30 pph is much too big for what you're describing you want to do. SVO 30's (flowing about 31 pph at our fuel pressure) can support 600 crank hp in NA applications.
