91' GTA Power but no crank??

Before you guys light me up about checking the VATS forums.. I just want some input. So I have a 5 speed GTA that through the summer wouldn't crank at the first turn of the key. Lights would flip up and the power was there but wouldn't try to start, but try it again right away and it would start no problem. Now it's been sitting idle in the garage for about a month and when I tried to start it, nothing. Still has battery power, but not even a shot at trying to start.

Here's where I'm a bit lost though-
The key I use isn't the original.. the original is under the dash with two white wires attached to the chip on either side of the key. I'm not well versed with issues like this, and have no idea where to start with diagnosing the issue. Yes the wires are still attached to the chip key so I at least ruled that out. Also, when I turn the key, the security lights don't stay on so would that rule out a VATS issue? Maybe a clutch position sensor issue?

I would try bypassing the clutch pedal switch.
