Spark Plug Wires!!!

just a question,,, all the import guys go nuts about sparkplug wires.....im wondering whats the point?? i think its just so they can say "yeah i have 120 buck sparkplug wires from Nuespeed"....i though wires just send the charge so it can spark... i mean i understand good wires if you have a good ignition,,,but just wires????? then the 5 buck a peice sparkplugs?? come on...then they put the sticker on there car and think they get 10hp out of it...

those import/4banger guys are just kinda goofy if you ask me. :-) I think having good wires will help you a little but not 10hp. that just in my opinion. i don't have any after marekt ones on any of my cars adn the still run fast. once you get to a certain performance level, yes you should get them. but all stock or close to I don't think would help that much. like I said tough I'm not 100% sure about that either, i've never tried em. if somebody has and they made a huge difference please correct me. Better wires can give you better spark for better throttle response, and there's nothing wrong with $5 a plug, that only comes to $40. But ricers I guess feel there's not much they can do to their cars but a set of yellow wires must give performance. You want a wire with a low resistance, MSD Superconductor I hear are very good, that's what I'll get next. But the thing I have found to be the most important investment is a set of wire looms, I learned this after burning 3 wires at different times and having my car run like crap not knowing what was wrong. I also invested in protective sleeving.

At $5 a plug a ***** only has to pay $20 for a full set!

just simple stuff they think is just insane power gains, like the huge race wires that cost a forture, 300$ fart pipes and k&N air filers, putting on bigger wires unless its really needed (high compression, lots of NOS,..etc) is completly a waste of money.
