Dakota Digital Speedo setup help
Hey Folks
I am trying to setup a SGI-5 E on my T56 VSS and connect it to my GTA buffer box, I get the LED on the SGI to pulse when I am driving but no speed registering. Does anyone know the correct settings on the SGI? (HI-LOW, SiG: Lo or HI, or P-U on or off) for a T56 swap?
Thanks

Re: Dakota Digital Speedo setup help
I have a SGI-5c. Close enough.
You don't connect it to the buffer box.... It replaces the buffer box. The SGI has a 2000 ppm output for cruise, and a 4000 ppm output for speedometer. Going on memory, but I think all my dip switches are set to zero. If you read the instruction manual you can figure out that switches #1, #2, and #4 get set to zero (0). Only switch #3 is questionable whether it gets set to 0 or 1. If setting it to 0 doesn't work then try setting it to 1. This is how I wired it, Post $178, https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/ltx-...ml#post5821648
I suppose you could use it as an input to the buffer box, but why???

Re: Dakota Digital Speedo setup help
The SGI-5E has a digital set-up instead of dip switches. I just want to make sure I have the settings right before I trouble shoot wiring. Maybe I'll try run the speedo right off the Dakota and if I can get that to work I'll connect the ECM and cruise directly as well.

Re: Dakota Digital Speedo setup help
It shuts fans off at highway speed, don't know about anything else on a manual.
