Re: can an lt9 engine be upgrated to have more power

probably has low compression heads-possibly with small valves, torque cam,ETC.,so a head and camshaft change will be needed for higher-revving horsepower I have a 1975 K30 engine in my spares stash and it has small valve'882 heads-I think intake valves are 1.72" Vs 1.94 valves used in '882 heads meant for passenger car and 1/2 ton truck usage.

I have no idea what a LT9 is, specifically; not familiar with that RPO. But if it's a mid 70s smogger 2-barrel motor, as it sounds like, then the best thing you can do is throw THE WHOLE THING in the trash, get a 96-2000 truck 350 at the junkyard, and put a 4-bbl intake carb & distributor on it. You'll need an electric fuel pump and the late-model flex plate.
