Guage Importance

I'm thinking about geting a triple guage a-pillar pod. Right now, I already have temp and oil pressure guages. What would be the next most valuable guage? This is a carbed car if that makes any difference. I was thinking fuel pressure. Any other opinions?

not a real good thing to run a fuel pressure gauge to the inside

infact, it is illegal I think. Volts-oiltemp or vacuum. Once you get a general idea of either oil-temp or vacuum it will very seldom change. Even if there is a problem, these gagues will probably not be your best indication of it.

Volts, is pretty important.. if that little belt comes off,, the volt gauge will very quickly let you know.. but so with the little light on the dash if it is working.

edit - fuel pressure gauge
i stand corrected.. thanks. I will have to bite the bullit and get one myself eventually.

Jcb, Autometer makes an electric fuel pressure gauge that has a sending unit that you mount in the engine compartment. That way you just wire the gauge to the sending unit and you don't have to worry about having gasoline plumbed through the passenger compartment.

Yap, if you do install a fuel pressure gauge in the car, you definitely want to use an electrical gauge or an isolator like Autometer sells, so you don't have fuel in the cockpit!
By the way, fuel pressure is the third gauge I'd recommend.I Plan on getting one myself soon.

If the car's an automatic, I'd say trans temp.

Thanks for the replies and the heads up on the fuel pressure guage issue. I think I'm going to go with volts though. I'm in to car stereo too and have had problems with my electrical system, so that will probably be the most useful for me now. I'll wait on fuel pressure.
