Been lookin at different crate motors, and like a couple of you suggested on the board, I checked ebay and came across this motor...

it's quite a bit cheaper than the ZZ4 385 Fastburn i was looking at, and has more power. However, when I showed the specs to my dad, he said that he was very doubtful that the motor was running that much power w/ that cam and other components on it.... since i really know jack-**** when it comes to motors, I am asking you guys what you think about it. Is my dad right in his concern as to whether this motor is legit? Or is it very possible for the motor to be running 435 HP w/ those parts. (Also, anyone have an estimated torque??)
Also, has anyone ever purchased a motor from them before (Mark's Performance Engines)?? How was the quality of the motor??
Thanks for all the help.

That combination should be good for that HP. The only "problem" is that with that cam, you are going to need to run at a high RPM to get it. My guess would be 3.73 rear gears or higher (numerically). If it was me, I'd pass on that engine for a street car. Or change cams to something with less duration.
IMHO.

Eh, It probably does put around 400hp at crank but high and I use that term loosly hp for that price isnt real. It costs a person around $1000 for the extra components excluding the heads. I dunno you cvould probably find somone local to build you one as good but cheaper.

Edit: BTW I hope the engine the pic is of isnt the one for sale. Just by looking at the pic I can tell you thats a plan jane 350 with a chrome oil pan timing cover and cheap performer intake. Wanna know why I can tell? Dart race head dont have accessory holes, and a high rise intake sure as He11 better be higher than stock valve covers.
