1983 Recaro runs again 10/19
Hi everyone
This is the latest news about my car.
She's running again after hoses/belts changes.
Now this is facing me : the carburetor is missing a plug on its back
So I bought an Edelbrock 1/4" pipe plug. Hope I choose the right size !
Fuel hoses are cracking, then I ordered new ones. As well as a new black fuel-filter.
Since the valve-cover seals are leaking, i order new seals... and new valve-covers ! These finned units look too old on a 80s machine.
They probably come from the same LT1 350ci as the intake manifold. They'll go on the Bay. I bought Mr Gasket new covers instead. new breathers are coming as well. I shouls also replace that stupid boat air-cleaner, but I has been told a standard cleaner wouldn't fit the throttle linkage support. The current thing is as ugly as noisy, and I may loose some power because of it.
The next stop is changing the TH-700 fluid. Never did this on an Hydramatic (we are in southern France). Maybe any How to exists...
I should also refresh the brakes since I bought new calipers/hoses a few years ago. Is there anything specific to know ? Thx.
In between, I'm looking for something really important. Where can I find these ?
