Weird idle rpm problem
Hi guys,
I have a strange problem with my 92 Firebird with the 305 TPI. Engine is stock, has been completely rebuilt. Every sensor is new, used Delco parts when possible.
The problem occurs from time to time without any sign or reason. For example, when I stop at a traffic light, I recognize that my idle is too high and that it won't go down to it's desired idle. It is about 750 rpm in "D" and about 1100 in "N". I can do what I want, nothing helps to get the rpm down. Because of this I need more force on the brake pedal to stop the car. The only way to stop this behaviour is to shut of the engine and restart. Then everything goes back to normal. This so strange, it happens every few weeks. And everytime it does, I am far from home with no TunerPro around.
No trouble code is set, engine runs strong and without any misfire or something. I made two quick videos the other day when it popped up. As you can see, the throttle body is fine, nothing binds or is obviously defective. As I said, nearly everything is new on this engine. Delco TPS and Delco IAC. Anyone got any idea what can cause this behaviour?
