Double Roller Timing Set 1996 5.7L Vortec
Anybody have part numbers for a double roller timing gear and chain set as well as a replacement timing cover that will fit the double roller to put on a 1996 5.7L chev vortec engine? This will be a carb'ed engine so don't need the sensor hole.
Thanks....

Just use any stock f-body cover and correct balancer that matches the timing tab location.

Thanks, so I am assuming then that any timing cover and balancer for a 1990 to 1995 5.7L will work on the 1996 5.7L vortec and clear the double roller. Or, do the earlier 5.7L engines have two different timing covers (one for single roller and one for double roller)?

Same cover depth but there are 2 factory timing tab locations and a couple different balancer sizes (iirc). Make sure you have a matching set. Then the vortec balancers aren't as deep because of the wheel for the crank sensor.

GMPP Single roller works great. No grinding and they hold up practically forever under 6,500 rpm. Holley makes a relatively inexpensive aluminum cover with and without a crank sensor hole.
