I'm lookin' at the 80 Series Flowmasters with some Hooker Headers, no cat. When I put these on, what should I do with the EGR? Do I have ta pick up some type of kit to bypass the Computer? And is there any good way to eliminate my Emmisions system?

I did the same thing to my '85. I took the carb and dist off and put on a Holley and non-cc dist. I'm running Edelbrock headers, and a Flowmaster exhaust. The flowmaster system is 3" from where the cat is supposed to be (hah hah), and has 3" dual outlets. It sounds bad ***. The only thing I regret is not getting the headers for the tpi engine. It has a 3" pipe to the cat. I got the one for the lg4, and it has a 2 1/4 pipe. Edelbrock has a bad rap for their headers, but I really like mine. I just ha to get some 3/8 pipe thread caps for the a.i.r hookups. One thing you may want to do, whatever brand headers you go with, is have them sandblasted, and painted with the best hi temp stuff you can get, unless you have the dough for the jet hot coating.

The Hooker headers sound like a good idea, but I strongly suggest the Hooker cat-back as well. I have sound clips in my signature and that's with a replacement cat.

Even if you don't have to be emmissions legal, I'd go with the SLP....and I did I have no complaints about the power, even with all the emmissions nonsense hooked up, and the sound is to die for! I don't know if everyone agreed, but at the SWMG a year ago when er were dynoing our cars (btw, if they guy who covered me then read this pm me an address to send ya the money I owe, I hate having outstanding debts! anyways, some of us were talking and agreed the SLP sounded the best...even if the motor had some...major issues making it's performance on the dyno less than desirable...
