I found reference to another FLF coded engine, with a partial VIN from a Chevy truck. The block casting is 1980-1985 350.
Looks like there may be a partial VIN below your code stamp in your picture but I can't read it. I see what looks to be a "1" on there. See if you can find the rest of the numbers there.

That seems to check out on Nastyz28.com. It also says on there it has 4 bolt mains, and came from Flint engine. Tomorrow is its 35-40th birthday, it's not too late to buy it something nice!
Who knows on the year, I was up and down the list on 1968ss.com with no luck. I was even looking at other codes that could look like FLF if they weren't stamped correctly to no avail.
New here and just wanted to see if anyone has insight on my casting numbers
Casting# passenger side above water pump connection V0508FLF
Casting# on drivers side behind head 14010207
My confusion is more about the FLF designation.. cant find much about it
That is one crusty-looking block. It's prob a generic 350 truck motor, mid-'80s. I'm assuming you're planning to completely rebuild it; have the machine shop check it for cracks before you put any $$$ into it.
Also, does anyone know if it is possible to pull the 350 without the 700r4? or better to pull both as a pair?
Yes, you can separate the two, leaving the transmission in the car, but you'll need to devise a way to support the front of the trans. You could do that with a floor jack, but doing so won't allow you to move the car around if you need to before the engine goes back in.
I will be pulling the block this weekend, my plan was to put a pair of l82 heads on and new rings and roller rockers, Clean up block and polish crank if needed.
I am suspecting the head gasket is gone (pretty nasty looking coolant).
Pretty much just get it running again until i have $ to LS swap (buddy has a cheap pair of L82 heads for me)
