NEW GM 350 Crate engine.

I recently came across this add for a new, made in USA GM crate engine. What do yous think of this? Good 305 to 350 SWAP engine? Anyone know if the TPI base will bolt on, without slotting intake holes? Thanks.

Looks like the intake pattern is vortec/fast burn.
you would need a Used Edelbrock or new scoggin Dickey intake base.

Those are definitely Vortec heads.

Edit: There's more than one picture and more than one part number. So it looks like they do have one with the old style intake pattern.

Doubt those suckers will be cheap...... yep - confirmed - only $4,000 for a brand new completely stock 350.

Not terrible for the 100k warranty. Still fairly expensive for a 210 HP 350. You can get an aluminium head 390 HP unit from Blueprint for $3600.

Re: NEW GM 350 Crate engine.

Yeah the one TPI will bolt to probably has 882/993 heads or a facsimile thereof, or 193. By far the most likely, are the 193 TBI heads. Which you SURE AS HELL don't want. New or otherwise.

Find out what the head casting is. Not the ad copy, the actual PART NUMBER. As well as the details of the pistons; whether flat-top or dished, specifically. And whether they come set up for roller cam. Then you'll be able to talk turkey.

I seriously doubt any of them are any different from the same GM replacement engines featured in any number of vendors' ads. Butt, who knows. Maybe. Maybe they came out with a "new" one. Only research will tell.

If they are making something with an 87 to 95 intake pattern it's almost a sure bet that it's setup for EGR crossover. It would have to be for compatibility.... which is really the ONLY market niche for a product such as this. These are going to be marketed towards those looking for a new 100% stock engine for their low mileage survivor or bone stock restoration. The price is so dang high and the performance is so low that those are really the only markets it could target.

Yeah, like those of us in Cali, or other CARB states! $ 4K too high for the HP, IMO.
