Yes you will say it isnt possible, but I'm doing it. The bolts dont line up on the manifold but I have drilled new holes and made special angular washer for the manifold to seal. The ports line up and the thermostat housing is just blocked off, there is no place for it in the head. I am using HEI ignition and have ported the hell out of the aluminum lt1 heads. lt4 hot cam kit also. It is going in a 1980 Trans AM. Everyone said that lt1 manifold on a tuneport wasnt possible too...

Very interesting
I always like to see people having fun with engines. What compression are you running? I think stock LT1's have like 10.5:1 if I remember right. It'll be a screamer all right. Are you running a stock bottom end? I always wondered how those things would perform if the injection was removed. Let us know when you get her all bolted up.

We are going to run a holley 750 vacuum secondary. Stock bottom end (have read that the bottom end can take a lot). Head gaskets with .015 thinner than stock, our porting took off 4 CC's for each chamber but the head gasket makes up for it. The freaking rings themselves run 100 bucks from advanced. They are very expensive rings. I dont know how the reverse cooling is going to set up yet with the TA's radiator. We will be running a 700r4 also.
