HELP, not thirdgen.

My GF has a 93 ford escort, i need to find out if there is a way to pull the service engine codes without a scan tool, so i can find out what is through the service engine code.

so if anyone has a ford escort and knows how to do this please help me out. i searched online for a while and couldn't find any info on pulling codes fore escorts.

TIA

Dewey,

You'll need to use a scanner to connect to the diagnostic link on a '93. Ford switched from the EEC IV system around 1990, and that system could be accessed with a jumper and test light or meter to retrieve codes.
