Fuel pump voltage

Does anyone know on an 87 IROC TPI if the fuel pump voltage should be the same as the relay input? (12v). When checking my voltage at the pump, I'm getting 8v on prime, about 6.8 v when cranking. Fuel pump is not coming on. Thanks in advance!

Re: Fuel pump voltage

Should be ALOT closer than that. Ideally no difference at all but that won't happen in the RW. I'd expect no more than 1 volt drop in the relay and wiring though.

Sounds like you have a bad connection, bad relay, VERY frayed wire, or some such, somewhere in there.
