Missing at Idle only
My TPI engine has a miss fire at idle it seem. All wires have spark and fresh plugs. The issue is only at idle though, it will cruise perfectly without any surging or anything. With the WUD hooked up on my laptop I can see the timing dropping from 26 to 18 at idle and kPA going from 57 to 48. Could this be a misfire caused by induced current in the spark plug wires due to bad wiring near the coil?

Re: Missing at Idle only
Well, messing around with it outside now and just noticed that when I move the ignition coil wiring (4 wires) the car wants to stall out. I actually just tucked the wiring behind the coil (moved it closer to firewall) and the engine stalled and would not start back until I put it back where it was. It would crank but not fire. The wiring does not seem to be damaged or broken anywhere so confused. Guessing bad ignition coil causing the miss fire? Or is there a module or anything that I should be looking for? My first time dealing with an engine that wasn't and HEI. Not sure how this whole separate coil system works.

Re: Missing at Idle only
It is a common problem that the pigtail that goes between the remote ignition coil and distributor ICM breaks inside of the insulation. It is usually at the coil end where the wires enter the hard connector. The wire breaks at that point but the insulation holds it together.
