Thank you!

First, just a general comment on how informative and valuable this site has been to me over the past couple of months. I have spent hours upon hours reading about my new toy / project. This site has provided me with so much helpful information that I didn't have to learn through trial and error. Thank you!

Secondly, I had no idea there were so many 3rd gens still out on the road. I live in the midwest and there really isn't that many rolling around here anymore. They have literally turned to dust by the hands of DOT salt trucks, rough roads or the kids have chopped them to pieces.

I recently stumbled across an '82 Z with only 90k miles, that came with the 1986 title from when the second owner bought it. I graduated HS in 1984 and this car was the $HIT back then. I even had a poster of one on my wall. But this one was adult owned, never wrecked and wears a decent 30 year old paint job that still shines like a new penny. I find it remarkably original all around (which is good, and bad), and even still carries the factory muffler! I am finding some rust here and there, but nothing too serious for around here, and compared to the other 2nd gens I have owned. This is my first 3rd and I am amazed at how well it handles. Currently I am working on the suspension from back to front, going through the interior, laying new carpet and surveying for rust. I only found one mouse nest and thankfully no signs of chewed wires. I thought it was kind of a special car, that is until I saw all of the museum grade cars out on the internet with 2k miles on them, and all of you nice folks on this site with your beautiful cars. I guess mine really isn't that big of a deal, so I plan to keep it running as original as possible for a fun weekend "driver grade" cruiser. And with the whopping 145 hp and stumbling Q-jet carb, I certainly won't be able to hurt myself. haha

Anyway, thanks for all of the great information!

Re: Thank you!

Everyone can find "another" car that is nicer...... Be content and enjoy the one you have, it is yours! Someone else is looking at your car when you are out driving, thinking to themselves "man, that guy has a cool car, I wish I had one of those"...... It's all relative, and you have a nice car there. Congrats, welcome to the forum and ENJOY THE HECK OUT OF YOUR CAR!!!!

Re: Thank you!

The early (82-84) years you dont see too often, very clean car, welcome. Reminds me a little of my 84z.
