Differences in EGR Model?

Hello,

I am looking to replace all the components of my EGR system. I've sourced the Temp Switch and Solenoid from Zip Corvette. However I cant seem to find the right part number for an 88 305 5 speed egr valve.

I see plenty for an automatic, and I did find one for a 1990.

My question is, are there are any differences between models? Or will the 1990 version work alright?

Thanks in advance!

I'm also interested in this too, I purchased one that wasn't for a specific year but was listed to fit my 88 but it's different from what's on mine, which I assume is from the factory. Looks different on the underside.

I did all the same things you did to correct that annoying code 32, after doing my research I went with AC Delco 214-5538 from Rockauto for the EGR valve. It looked identical to the factory unit and had the correct bung for the temp sensor as well but the only thing I didn't like was it was made in China. My car is an L98 auto and there was no designation on transmission choice when it showed compatibility, either of these should work but the Delco is now being called a Genuine GM part.

Hmmm, I'll have to do a bit more research.

As far as the solenoid goes, I see rockauto claims to supply the solenoid... If I could get one that bolts into the proper location vs modifying for the corvette version, that would be great.

Is this the proper solenoid? Link

I can’t remember for sure but that certainly looks close and no messing around with mounting that Vette one and an exact fit plug, that’d be great! Did you study the plug end to make sure it’s identical to factory? It looks it from what I remember.

Re: Differences in EGR Model?

I wont be able to tear into anything until Wednesday, I was just trying to get some parts ordered before that so I could have them on hand. I'm not quite sure, but does certainly appear to be correct! Surprised there haven't been any threads commenting on this, as I have found threads as recent as last year talking about how they dont make these for F Bodies.

Re: Differences in EGR Model?

I actually just commented on your other thread and shared pictures of my OEM one that I saved, those 2 you mentioned are close but you would need to splice a new connector for it to work and the mount is different as well.
