F-Body EGR Solenoids being Reproduced?

Hello, I figured I might as well start a different thread for this question.

I was about to purchase an EGR solenoid from Zip Corvette for $70 when I decided to look at Rock Auto.

They seem to have a solenoid available for $32 Bucks Link
Summit also seems to have the AC Delco variant at $46 Link

Is this actually the right part? Finally being remanufactured?

Definitely cheaper than the Corvette alternative!

I was intrigued by your research on this and remembered I kept my original EGR solenoid in my used parts collection. I’m pretty sure those 2 linked are not direct replacements, at the least you would have to do a new pig tail so it would connect. Here are some pics I just took of the OEM part:

If you didn’t mind changing the connectors you could still save $$$ over the Corvette one. If you search there was a guy awhile back who did a nice write up on doing that.

Darn, well, they have a connector for sale for $5, still a decent savings opportunity.

Thanks for posting those pics!

No problem, it sucks paying the Corvette tax for one with the proper connector (which BTW still needs a bit of persuading to fit right) but I did it because I didn’t want to splice in a new connector.

I also remembered that thread where member THtanner did a nice write up with part numbers and all using a Cadillac egr solenoid IIRC.

Re: F-Body EGR Solenoids being Reproduced?

It's just a solenoid. Replace it with any 12V solenoid. I don't see the problem. There's THOUSANDS of them used on every make and model and they are all basically the same.
