looking for help 96 Firebird engine transplant
We have a 1941 Chevy pickup that a friend purchase from an estate sale. they fired it up drove a around and seemed to run great was told it was on an S10 frame and running gear was going to bring it to me to repair an oil leak and would not start, so this is where we are at now. It has a 1996 Pontiac Firdbird 5.7L with automatic transmission vin # 2G2FV22P7T2211835 the fuel pressure when key is turned on goes to 43psi and when the pump kicks out the pressure holds at 39-41, we have spark but will not start, if you give it a breath of ether it fires right up and runs great, shut it off and it will start right back up, let it set for over an hour hit the key and it will start right back up no problem. But let it set over night and will not start with out giving it an ether boost. all cylinder compression is 90-100 psi. fuel PSI while running with vacuum line off the prv is steady 41 psi. They used the stock wiring harness that needs to be cleaned up a bit but have not found any issue with it. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Terry

I would suggest you check with one of our other sites in our network, LS1Tech.com, that is more dedicated to the engine platform that you're working on:
