"LT1 Hot Cam"? I thought it was "LT4 Hot Cam".

I've only heard of it being used with TPI, but GM says it'll work in other stuff (with 1.6 rockers). But, that "other stuff" is typically "off-road only" or "pre-'75", so computer compatibility isn't one of their concerns. "Emissions-legal" is a big "no", at least not certified, but "able to pass emissions testing" is a "probably".

(What I need to learn is how to use quotation marks more, don't you think?)

It will work in with some minor modifications. People use it in TPI engines even though the lt4 cam's power band is beyond the reach of the TPI, but it seems to work. It shouldn't conflict with the computer, but you would need a custom prom to take advantage of it.
