Engine Updates

Hey guys, thought I'd give you a little update. I have 600 miles on the engine build. I updated a few things. I put a set of DW 48lb injectors and a GZ vacuum pump. I have the vacuum pump set at 8" of vacuum. What a difference it made! After all it's a 1/1/2mm ring package in a stock block! lol.. I will post a few videos. They don't come close to being in the car. It's a beast for NA. Small, high flowing, proper high velocity, makes it a acceleration beast!

Video of rolling at 1000 rpm, notice how fast it finds 6000+
Video of rolling in OD and notice how fast the car accelerates!

Re: Engine Updates

That engine of yours is one of my personal favourites. Nicely done.
As strong as it sounds, any idea on what your cruising MPG might be. Of course that means not sticking your foot in it for a tank of fuel but it would be interesting to know. Case in point is the "fleet" Chevelle. It's a 10.9x car with an LSX 454 and a real cruiser not a drag racer. 20+ (USG) highway mileage so it's not a slouch there either.
Again, well done.

How do you like the GZ vac pump? Have you tried other brands?

I like it. I've used them all. Starr is the best, IMO. I liked this because I was trying to use some of the OEM brackets, and I did.

Thank You! I need to check MPG. I think it would be decent.
