Ok. Original plan was swap my drum brakes onto my new housing. That won't work. Please ignore that thread till I learn how to delete it.

New idea. Can I take the guts of a 92 chicken and put them into the housing of a 87 Camaro. I don't care about the drum disc conversion. I just wanted 3.23 posi. Can't just swap the carrier because the spline count is different. (87 to 92) if I can do I need to reshim it or can I just set it up as it was from the factory?

What is the current axle? A 1987 could have a Borg 9-bolt, which wouldn't be compatible with a 1992 version 10-bolt Saginaw.

Both are 10 bolts.
