Rear end swap from 89 iroc to 92 RS

I have bought a rear end from a 89 Iroc complete with disc brakes LSD and 3.73s and I want to swap it into my 92 RS as it has none of these. Is there any articles available on doing this swap and is there anything I should know or need about this?

Should more or less be a straight re & re if its the same with respect to the brakes (disk to disk or drum to drum), if the brakes are different you will need to swap the proportioning valve.

Do yourself a favor and pickup one of those adapters you can afix to your floor jack to raise and lower the diff....I think summit sells them for $100 bucks or so, WELL worth it. I did one without that adapter, and I will never do it again that way. Not terribly difficult...just heavy and cumbersom.

i replaced my drum rear on my 91 with a 10 bolt disc from an 85. i did not need the prop valve for the brakes. the e-brake hook up was a little different though. its easy to switch and be sure to really bleed the brakes.

It's not that you need a disk/disk prop valve, the drum prop valve will work with disk brakes. But you may want a disk/disk prop valve to get the most performance of the rear disk brakes.
